I used to think that I was too messed up and damaged to become anything useful in life. Before I believed in a plan for my life, I just assumed that my card had been pulled by the other side.
Fortunately for me, I found myself in a position to pray one afternoon. Sometimes, I joke that I started talking to God because I was high, bored, and alone lol but the truth is that I desperately wanted God to be real.
My prayer was answered that day in a weird way. I was arrested that night, so it helped me get sober. But the other blessing was this new feeling of hope that I did not have before the day I prayed. I was in jail, with an unknown path ahead but I was feeling hopeful…it was the strangest thing.
What I know now, is that God is in the business of redemption. He loves nothing more than taking our pain and turning it into purpose.
No matter what your past looks like, you are not disqualified. Any of our painful experiences can be used for good.
Stay positive and stay motivated.
Have a great week!
