FOCUS

Stay focused.

Do not allow yourself to get lost in what other people are doing. Another individual’s progress doesn’t concern you, nor does their failure. The only time we should be concerned about someone else, is to encourage, help, or celebrate them. Do not lose focus because you are watching somebody else’s journey.

The only comparison we should make, is the comparison to who we were yesterday. Work to improve yourself a little bit more each day, but do not compare yourself to others. We are all unique individuals, traveling a path that is uniquely our own.

I love this photo of Michael Phelps and his competitor. Phelps won this race, and many others. His winning record is a result of many things: athleticism, work ethic, coaching, discipline, and FOCUS. Our goal is the finish line, and our focus should be on successfully completing the race. Anything else is a distraction.

Find areas to improve by looking in the mirror. Make progress by moving forward and focusing on the finish line, whatever that may be.
