I have always tried to learn things before I was actually doing them.
In 2014 and 2015, I was just making enough to cover my bills. Sometimes I couldn’t cover everything and I had to borrow money. I took a financial course I committed to tithing when I was broke. Broke meaning I was only making enough to stay out of jail and survive. I wanted to understand how to handle money before I had much of it. I wanted to think as of though I had it, so I knew exactly what to do once I got it. It has made being a good steward of my finances way easier as I have furthered my income over the years.
I started to dress nice at work before I was a supervisor. I started wearing the same kinds of clothes and I even started dressing nicer than some. Not to outshine anyone, but because of the way it made me feel. I felt more confident and people treated me with respect. The saying “dress for the job you want” was very true for me. I began acting like a manager before I was one. When I was a GM, I began thinking like an owner. Now I am an entrepreneur and an owner. I think it is important to commit to something. I think if you truly want something, you will just go and do it. Sometimes in my life, I don’t know how something is going to happen; but I know it is going to happen.
If you expect something to happen, you can give yourself the go ahead to prepare for it. Invest by assuming the role and watch the universe follow. I am not saying to take these things casually, but I am telling you to just start preparing for what you want your life to look like.
Don’t let it happen. Make it happen.
